Romans 15:5-6 - “May the God who gives endurance and encouragement give you the same attitude of mind toward each other that Christ Jesus had, so that with one mind and one voice you may glorify the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ.”

The Church and Its Vision
The Church at Granbury belongs to God; it is not the possession of its members. It has been created – and is being created – to do His will and to accomplish His mission in this community and throughout the world. For this reason:
· We believe The Church must grow in number, fellowship and spiritual depth to the full extent that God has in mind for us.
· We believe The Church ministries must involve the entire family, both as objects of its ministries and as witnesses to the entire community and the entire world.
· We believe The Church must use every technology and every technique possible as quickly as possible to accomplish the mission for which God has saved us.
· We believe that as we give our lives, our time and our treasure to be The Church, we will grow spiritually and in our understanding that it is impossible to give more to God than He has already given to us.
Building a New Testament Church from the ground up as we are doing is not boring or routine. It appeals to the pioneer spirit within our souls. It gives us a sense of anticipation because we know God is capable of doing extraordinary things in and through our lives. And, we’re filled with expectation because we feel the time is right and the time is now – and we also realize that life is short and that we do not have many opportunities to be involved in something this special to God.
People who are involved in the process of building The Church that we envision must not be ordinary people with the ordinary expectations of people who are simply churchgoers. They must be extraordinary people with a large vision of what a New Testament Church in the 21st century can be, and what it can accomplish for Christ by following His plan for numerical and spiritual growth. These extraordinary people must be “called” by God to fulfill this task, and they must have a “can do” attitude that is capable of withstanding anything and everything that Satan throws at them. They must sweep disappointment, discouragement and every obstacle from their path because they are being led by God, not by man.
If you are one of the extraordinary people called to help build The Church at Granbury, come join us on top of the hill at 4900 Sonterra Court. Take the road across from the De Cordova Bend Estates entrance on Fall Creek Highway for about one mile.

Iglesia Cristiana Vino Nuevo (New Wine Christian Church) will begin weekly services in our meeting place May 20.
Raul Sandoval, the church’s pastor, said the Spanish-speaking congregation was joining forces with The Church at Granbury in an effort to reach the more than 5,000 Hispanics in Hood County with the gospel of Christ.
“This is a massive undertaking,” he said, “but we have a great God and we’re up to the challenge. We greatly appreciate the support and missionary spirit of the elders, deacons and members of The Church at Granbury in helping us reach out to the Spanish-speaking people of Hood County. They’re embracing our congregation as if we’re all one congregation united in purpose, which we are…so we have a strong feeling of unity with these brothers and sisters in Christ.”
Sandoval said C.C. Risenhoover, our senior pastor, and Glenn Ward, director of missions for Paluxy Baptist Association, had been instrumental in the launch of his congregation.
“Both these brothers in Christ have a heart for the Spanish-speaking people,” he said.
“As a church, we have a worldwide mission,” said Pastor Risenhoover, “but it starts at home. It’s hypocritical to act as if we have this great spiritual concern for people in other countries, but none for those at our doorstep. The gospel cuts through color, ethnicity and language…and if we’re going to preach the true gospel of Jesus Christ, we have to do the same.”
Sandoval said the New Wine Christian Church is starting with a few families, but expects that to change rapidly.
Sunday services for the Spanish-speaking church are now at 12:30 p.m., but that may change in the future.
Tamatha Hurst is in charge of planning mission trips for youth and adults. This summer Tamatha along with some of our members – adults and children – completed a mission trip to witness to refugees now in Texas. It was wonderful and began a long-term relationship with this group. If you have never done anything of this nature, it is a life-changing experience, and it’s something you can do to make a difference in the lives of these desperate people. Just let Tamatha know of your interest and she will fill you in on the future plans. Her business number is (817) 326-6329 and her cell is (406) 546-8622.
Coming soon will be a fellowship supper at 6:30 p.m. and then one six 45-minute Wednesday sessions on a God’s Gifts Workshop.
