Tamatha Hurst is our music evangelist. An acclaimed soloist, she spurned offers of a secular singing career to devote her life and voice to Christian service. Born in Arlington, Texas, she won her first talent contest at 5 years of age.
Tamatha attended Martin High School in Arlington and then Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, but her singing career was already in full swing by the time she was 12 years old. That is when she began singing at various country music events throughout the state of Texas. By the age of 15 she was writing music, and over the years has penned numerous songs.
In 2004 she won first place in the Colgate Country Music Showdown in Montana, and for 10 years worked as an events planner. She has had Baptist General Convention of Texas (BGCT) chaplaincy training and also received training at Calvary International Missionary School in Jacksonville, Florida.
